16.01.12: This weekends match was billed as a Champions Elect decider with Valtaro Wasteels facing Fairfield. If there was ever any doubt then a 5-2 win for the Steelz should confirm what many have long suspected, a season which has tempted success could well be securted this year with a promotion and league winners trophy. Goals from P.Malavasi (2), Eddy Cioni, Kelmandi and Da Silva saw the team run out clear and convincing winners
09.01.12: Bore draw for the Valtaro Wasteels as the first game back from Christmas finishes 0-0. However a great 4-2 win for the reserves sees them climb to 7th in the table and valuable points away from the relegation candidates.
04.01.12: Training resumes tonight at Crystal Palace Sports Arena and both teams are back in action with their first games of 2012 on Sunday. The 1st team face Ex Blues who they defeated already this season with the 2nd's playing away at Orpington Rovers.
04.12.11: A great 'tripletta' for Eddy Cioni takes him to 5 goals in 4 games and cements Wasteels place at the top of the table. 5 wins in 6 games, one defeat in 9, whichever way you look at it, Wasteels have found top gear despite a number of team changes to a squad ravaged by injuries. A big game next week against title rivals Coney Hall awaits
04.12.11: After a run of positive results Wasteels B's progress grinds to a halt with a 2-0 defeat to Bromley Eagles
01.12.11: Christams drinks are organised for the 21st December at the Burlington Arms on Old Burlington St behind Saville Row. Area is reserved but please confirm attendance if possible.
28.11.11: A comprehensive 4-0 victory ensures Wasteels stay top of the league in the hunt for promotion. Match report is linked above. The B team also record another win as their turnaround in form continues and they now move into a decent mid table position.
17.11.11: Hard fought 1-0 victory ends the run of defeats against Crystal City and sees the Steels climb the table. 2nd goal in 2 games for Cioni with a neat finish in the close game. Reserves game called off but win awarded later for the non fielding of opposition side.
11.11.11: Crystal City beat Valtaro Wasteels for the 2nd time this season in cup competitions. An early chance for revenge as we face them again next week, but this time, importantly for us, in the league where points are needed to continue moving upwards
02.11.11: CONGRATULATIONS TO IAN DeSOUZA who scooped 1st prize and £800 at the Poker tournament on Saturday night. The event raised £1,400 for the club and was well attended as usual. With 6 players still fighting it out at 2am the competition was fierce and required a lot of concentration over the night so well done to Ian for remaing the last man standing. Thanks to Andrea Cacchioli for organising and Rob Dora' at the Bulll in Devonshire Row for hosting us
01.11.11: Valtaro Wasteels make it 3 clean sheets in last 4 unbeaten games with a 0-2 win at Orchard FC. Goals from Anderson and debutant Cioni keep the momentum up for the Steelz as they move into CUp fixutre next week. A solid defensive display again and some great saves from Meola frustrated Orchard FC who provided a bettertest than in the last meeting in the Jack Standen Cup.
01.11.11: Wasteels B end a run of 6 defeats beating top of the table Keston Pheonix 3-2 at Dulwich. Ben Walcott grabs headlines with a brace and veteran Petrozzi shows that you never lose a goalscoring touch even at 54 years of age. Building on this win is now the target for the B team in the coming weeks to move away form the bottom spot by Christmas.
24.10.11: Valtaro Wasteels draw another blank and finish 0-0 against top of the table Eden Park Rangers. With games still in hand to go top, next weeks game against recent cup opposition Orchard FC is crucial to moving up the table. After a number of squandered chances in the 1-0 win Wasteels will be looking to make a real statement in this game.
17.10.11: A difficult 1-1 draw against Centersports City Reserves was more a case of 2 points dropped than 1 gained for Valtaro Wasteels this weekend. An early lead from Kelmandi but missed chances thereafter meant that a great chance to take charge of our division was lost.
11.10.11: NOTICE TO ALL PLAYERS - Training this week WILL take place as normal on Wednesday at Crystal Palace Sports Arena. NOT Dulwich on Thursday as previously indicated.
10.10.11: Valtaro Wasteels record a 1-0 win in the Jack Standen Cup with a goal from Darren Anderson. A more impressive scoreline could have been recorded with many missed chances but in the end a clean sheet was probably worth more. The next round offers an opportunity to bury an early ghost against Crystal City having already given up a lead against them in another Cup competiton this season.
10.10.11: A 3-0 defeat for Valtaro Wasteels B against Kingsdale compounds a terrible start to the 2011/12 campaign and is a 6th consecutive defeat.
06.10.11: FIRST TEAM PITCH INFORMATION - Away to Orchard FC. Click here for map
04.10.11: Another single goal defeat means Valtaro Wasteels B have an unenviable 5th consecutive defeat in all competitions. Still looking for the first win this season is proving more and more frustrating and a quick turnaround of form and fortunes is needed. Amir Prebeza keeps up his goalscoring run though with their solitary goal against North Kent Rangers.
03.10.11: A 4-2 defeat sees Valtaro Wasteels exit the London FA Cup at the first round stage. A very fine Clapton Rangers side provded too strong despite Wasteels taking the lead from a Malavasi free kick. Afrim Kelmandi scored to make it 3-2 and offer some hope of a comeback but a sweetly struck 25 yard effort secured the result for Clapton.
25.09.11: Valtaro Wasteels loss their 100% start to the league campaign following a 1-2 defeat against Fairfield. A late goal from Ramon Silva was no more than a consolation
