Game Report - 2007-11-11

Valtaro Wasteels

3 - 3

 Deborah United

3 a piece for Wasteels and Deborah

A tough game today ended in a hard fought tie at 3 a piece for Wasteels and Deborah. The first half saw Wasteels dominate posession for all but the first and last few minutes, in which 3 goals were scored by Deborah resulting from a mix of poor defensive play and bad luck. Michael scored an absolute peach of a volley - the likes of which have never been seen from any of Wasteels more recent past centre backs - to equalise at 1 - 1. The second half saw a stirring come back off the back of a rousing team talk by 'Il Mister' and a fantastic 'never say die' team spirit. A penalty, taken by Dan in the absence of Claudio 'Thriller' Bardetti, got Wasteels back within touching distance at 2 - 1 followed by a calmly slotted home finish from Alex to level the game at 3 - 3. A win was the objective but a point a piece reflected a fair result.

Lewis 5
Question marks over both goals scored from open play, other than that not much else was there to be saved.

Dom 5
Gave away the penalty to put Deborah back in front and conceded the free kick which led to them extending the lead. 2 mistakes aside, competed well throughout the rest of the game. Substituted in the 2nd half.

Michael 6.5
Outstanding goal to add to a solid performance. Should have dealt with their 2nd goal better but more than made up for his only slip up.

Stefano 7
Commanding performance at the back, stepping in for Claud. Top quality performance.

Marco 6.5
After a moan up at previous low Pagelle, Marco more than earned his more generous rating this week.

Betchi 6
The boy also known as Becky showed his character by giving it his all with a good hard working performance

Daniel 6
Played well in the middle of the park and held the midfield together when Riccardo was injured at the end.

Riccardo 6.5
Put in a Captain's performance and showed good leadership with some excellent pre 2nd half motivation. No wilting flowers South side of the Thames! Sustituted 2nd half.

Ash 6
Played well down the left flank supporting both attack and defence perfectly.

Alex 6.5
Lovely equalising goal rounded off an effective performance replacing Chas up front. Good vision and accurate passing caused problems.

Darren 6
Led the line as always and provided a constant threat up front.

Subs
Dave 5.5
Didn't have much time to impose himself on the game. Despite this, he did what he had to.

Sammy s.v
Replaced Riccardo late on.
