Valtarowasteels (b) 5 Supercala Reserves 5 First half 20 mins. 0-1. 30 yarder from Cala's right back straight into right hand corner. 26 mins 1-1 Sammy cut in from right wing and let fly with his "left" foot which crept under keepers body. 33 mins 1-2 Ball carelessly given away by defence which allowed their midfielder a long range effort ,which Vale fumbled and striker ran in to slot ball in. 36 mins 2-2 Curling far post corner by Julian bundled in by Sammy by the post. 44 mins 3-2 20 yard daisy cutter by Fabio finds net low on the right side of keeper. Second half 5 mins 3-3 A lovely left foot curler into right hand top corner from edge of the area. 10 mins 3-4 Free kick awarded after we carelessly gave ball away, right foot curler into same corner as last goal. 20 mins 3-5 Yet again a silly mistake by our defence leads to free kick being awarded, same player takes it and this time puts in opposite corner.Brilliant free kick taking. 35 mins 4-5 After a spell of sustained pressure Dale tucks away from 10 yards out. 40 mins 5-5 After a melee in their box Fabio gets the final shot at goal which is saved by their right back.Red card for him and Julian is left with the task of taking the pressure penalty. Unlike our rugby player yesterday , he makes no mistake. Great game. I think most of the players must have watched Match of the Day last night and seen Portsmouth (7) v Reading (4). Having said that I think the other team watched a video of Dino Zoff's 1978 World Cup performances, in which they realised that Italian goalies don't like long shots. In defence of Vale he could only be blamed for their second goal, and in saying that, he had already pulled off the save of the season a few minutes earlier, because it was so good I don't think he can better it. Overall a good performance by the boys, Im pleased because they came back from 2 goals down and showed great character, having said that it was our silly mistakes that gave them their opportunities to unleash their firepower, and it was impressive shooting. It was a good way for me to sign out, I always said that as long as you give your all , that's all you can do, mistakes will happen but as long as you try they can be accepted, otherwise we'd all be playing in Serie A. I'd like to wish your new manager Daniele Moreschi all the best, and I think with the help of "jetsetter" Corsini when he can make it and with the leadership of "100%" Delmaestro on the pitch, I'm very confident that you will have a satisfying season. A lot will depend on injuries, not only second team ones but also first team ones, as they affect the squad directly.I think we deserve a injury free season after the last few unlucky ones.I also think the new professionalism that is being displayed at training by everyone will benefit both teams over the course of the season, I'm not saying you shouldn't have fun at training , but you should put the hard work first, then you deserve a bit of fun, not the other way round, like it had been happening for the last few seasons. Anyhow good luck to both teams for the rest of the season.
